Matt Favor
Matt Favor enters his second season at Cardiff after spending five years at the DMCV Sharks. With over 11 years of coaching experience, Matt was born and raised in San Diego, where he played at PQ Premier and was a four-year letter winner at Mira Mesa High School.
Matt has been the women’s varsity head coach at Canyon Crest Academy for the past five seasons and an assistant at the University of Saint Katherine, an NAIA program in San Marcos. Before those stops, Matt also spent three seasons as an assistant at San Diego Mesa College, highlighted by the 2019 season. The Olympians went 22-2-2 overall, narrowly losing in the final of the CCCAA State Championship.
Matt earned his BA in Psychology & Social Behavior from UC Irvine and held a USSF National “C” License. He is pursuing a Master's in Organizational Leadership and expects to finish in December.
Matt became our Assistant Director in January 2024 and is excited to "help and provide support to everyone here. It’s a great environment with a wonderful culture and staff so just want to help do my part.”
