Joao Paulo faria binder
“JP” brings a wealth of player experience to the Sockers coaching team. Joao Paulo (JP) is from Curitiba, Brazil, and started playing futsal and soccer at six years old for the Club Athletico Paranaense until he was 17. In 2003, JP joined FESP University with a full athletic scholarship and played for the Brazilian University National League for four years.
After moving from Brazil to the USA in 2007, JP was invited to build, play, manage, and captain the Southern States University (SSU) soccer team while completing his Masters in Business Administration. JP played with SSU in the West Coast Soccer Association leagues from 2009 to 2011, and in 2012, he played one season for San Diego Boca FC.
JP is excited to share his experience and passion with the next generation of athletes. He wants to teach the fundamentals of soccer and, through the sport, help his players to grow as good human beings. JP’s goal is to teach them the tactical and technical skills of soccer while supporting their individual growth and development of character and sportsmanship.
JP deeply respects family, friends, teammates, and fellow competitors and hopes to instill these values in his players.
