Thomas O’Briant
Thomas O'Briant joined Sockers staff after volunteering to give back to the soccer community. After working as an assistant and head coach with several of our teams, his non-soccer related career has pulled him away from full-time coaching, but he remains on staff as a fill in coach.
An avid player since the age of 5, Thomas has been around the game for over 37 years. A native of Charleston, South Carolina, Thomas played for the highest-level clubs in North Carolina for over ten years, competing for state titles and winning multiple tournaments across the east coast. He was selected as an ODP (Olympic Development Program) player in 1993, representing the state of North Carolina.
Coach Thomas shares that he sought out the Cardiff Sockers because "It's a special club, and to play a small role in the community of Cardiff is a true gift. It's an amazing group of talented people, kids, and parents, and I'm excited about the opportunity to learn, grow, and work with teams."
